On completion of this course learners will be able to:

  • Understand the concepts of the ageing process
  • Be able to meet the full range of needs of older people in a variety of care settings
  • Enhance the quality of life of the older person

This course may be beneficial to anyone working or planning to work in a care setting. Ideally attendees should have a Level 4 Certificate, Leaving Certificate or qualifications and/or relevant life and work experiences.

Classroom based, instructor lead, practical hands on course.

Product Description

This QQI level 5 minor award Care of the Older Person course is designed to meet the needs of people working or planning to work in a care setting. The aim of this  course is to equip learners with the knowledge and skills to provide care for older people in a variety of settings.

 

On completion of this course learners will be able to:

  • Demonstrate good work practices in the provision of individualised holistic care for older people
  • Understand the concepts of the ageing process
  • Be able to meet the full range of needs of older people in a variety of care settings
  • Enhance the quality of life of the older person

**Students must be working/ or on work experience in the Healthcare Sector/ or have experience of working with older people as assignments will require learners to draw upon practical experience.**

Entry Requirements:
Minimum age- 18 years old

Minimum English requirements: Leaners must be able to understand and convey the concepts contained in the programme content.

Ideally attendees should have a Level 4 Certificate, Leaving Certificate or qualifications and/or relevant life and work experiences.

Assessment Details: Attendees will be required to complete a combination of skill demonstrations and written
assignments to successfully complete QQI Level 5 training.
Skills demonstrations will be completed as part of the 4-day course, assessments to be completed in
the attendees’ own time and submitted within two weeks of course completion.

Cost Per Person:
The fee is inclusive of all training courseware materials, certificate of completion and 3 months after training support.
