This Managing Challenging Behaviour (Introduction to PMAV) will equip the learner with the knowledge, confidence and skill in recognising the early indicators for challenging behaviour, assessing and de-escalating challenging behaviour and methods to de-escalate crisis situations in a safe way. While the training is fully in line with HSE guidance it also adheres to restraint reduction guidelines.

    The aim of this training is:

    • to equip all parties with an understanding of how the threat of conflict affects us
    • to teach techniques to de-escalate conflict situations
    • develop confidence in your ability to deal with difficult situations
    • eliminate the need for physical intervention in de-escalating situations in the care setting.
