This course is for awareness only. It does not qualify workers to handle or remove asbestos.


This Asbestos Awareness training may be beneficial for anyone else who has responsibility for Health & Safety in the workplace and those who currently are at most risk from inadvertent exposure to asbestos.

Classroom and on-site based, instructor lead, practical hands on course.

Product Description

This half day Asbestos Awareness course will provide attendees with basic, general awareness of the dangers associated with asbestos and measures required to protect their safety. This awareness day, if required, would also give safe working knowledge of the appropriate actions to take upon encountering asbestos or for planned minor asbestos works.

Please note that this is an awareness course only, if your duties include handling & removal of Asbestos you will also need further practical training

1. Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Exposure to Asbestos) Regulations

  • S.I. No. 386 of 2006 implements EU Directive 2003/18/EC, applying to any work exposing people to asbestos dust (including demolition, maintenance, etc.)

  • S.I. No. 589 of 2010 updates the 2006 regulations, transposing Directive 2009/148/EC to set a single exposure limit and reinforce training requirements
